Boston Takes Game 1 in Overtime Thriller

The Boston Celtics emerged victorious in a hard-fought overtime battle against the Indiana Pacers in Game 1 of the 2024 Eastern Conference finals Tuesday night. The Celtics ultimately triumphed 133-128, taking an early lead in the best-of-seven series.
The game was closely contested from the opening tip, with both teams exchanging the lead throughout the four quarters. The Pacers held a slim 29-20 advantage at the end of the first quarter, but the Celtics rallied to take a 53-49 lead at the half.
The second half continued in the same vein, with neither team able to gain a significant advantage. The Pacers tied the game 116-116 with just over a minute remaining in regulation, sending the game into overtime.
In the extra period, the Celtics took control, outscoring the Pacers 17-12. Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 32 points, while Jaylen Brown added 28 points and Marcus Smart contributed 24 points.
The Pacers were led by Tyrese Haliburton's 27 points, while Myles Turner added 25 points and Buddy Hield chipped in 22 points. Despite their valiant effort, the Pacers were ultimately unable to overcome the Celtics' clutch play in overtime.
